other'n not bein able to get to front page by clikin on goer logo, havin nuthin current on front page when I did get there, the race board link not functionin, no hook up as of yet with sweek.com, and da user hits plummettin to near zero cause no one can find it, I think the transition is going smoothly

Thanks for noticing the front page everybody (except for Ice) -- there are still a few wrinkles to add and some things to tweak, but aside from the much improved look, it's going to contain a lot more information that's a lot easier to find. Plus, we'll actually be able to update it from anywhere: I know that sounds like a simple thing that should have happened back in the '90s (and it should have!!), but our dated old system only allowed folks to update it when physically sitting in our office -- that's why all Eagle River updates, for example, had to happen on the blog site.
RE: The boards, I don't know if y'all remember, but last summer I posted a question on here about 1) what other message boards you all liked, and what functions they had that this board system doesn't, and 2) your opinion on getting a new message board system vs. losing the history that was here. Basically, we could go to a new system, but we'd essentially have to start the message boards over, and all past posts would be lost forever. So the question was, what's more important, keeping the history or getting a new system?
The OVERWHELMING response was to save the history and put up with the quirks of this message board system. That came through loud and clear from the responses we got -- those posted here, and emails and private messages that were sent to me. Frankly, that went against our first inclination, but we are trying to be responsive to all of you -- the folks that hang out on our message boards really drive most of the page views. It's really a one-or-the-other proposition -- there's no reasonable way to transfer posts from one message board community to another.
So, was that the right move -- to keep this system?

Yur front page is oK, I actually checked out yur revues of the POS 3... too bad you didn't throw a yammie inda mix.
get rid a the history...ricers got it all on a floppy disk anyway, and it's about that time a year when flunky goes berzerk and deletes his, so you'd do him a solid.

just keep the forums simple like they are, I hate some of the other sites that have all kinds of bullshyt mixed in with the posts. And I really hate when you hover over certain words with your mouse, in a post and a damn pop-up comes out that has nothing to do with what the hell the post was about.
